Paulin Modi - Civil Engineering and Development

Civil engineer Paulin “Paul” Modi is the owner of S.M. Engineers in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He has more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering and development. Paulin Modi has a master of civil engineering from the University of Detroit Mercy and earned his BS in civil engineering from LD Engineering College, Gujarat University. Committed to professional growth, he has three professional engineer licenses (Michigan, California, and Nevada) and is working on his fourth.

With S.M. Engineers, Paulin Modi oversees project planning and works closely with clients to ensure developments progress efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. His role encompasses strategic planning, business development, project oversight, client relationships, and environmentally conscious engineering. Paulin Modi further supervises financial planning and cash flow management, oversees staff recruitment and hiring, and ensures legal and regulatory compliance.

Paul Modi has led his company to complete multiple residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across the United States. Current and past projects in Michigan include the redevelopment of the 90-acre Northland Mall site in Southfield, Rochester Hills Trio in Rochester Hills, Trailway Commons in Auburn Hills, and Benjamin Davis Veterans Village Apartments in Detroit.

Outside work, Mr. Modi volunteers at his temple and serves on its long range planning committee. He also enjoys weekly recreational tennis and traveling internationally with his family.
